Dental Implants

Dental implants are the most advanced treatment in dentistry to replace the roots of broken or missing teeth, and they provide long-term predictable results.

If broken teeth cannot be saved, and the only option is to remove teeth from your mouth, dental implants can add new teeth to your mouth by inserting titanium screws into your jaw bone and placing crowns on top of the screws.

Traditional Dental Implants

For a missing tooth space, we can place a dental implant, and about two to four months later we can put a crown on top of the implant. If you have a broken tooth that requires an extraction, with complicated infection or bone defects, we will recommend waiting an additional two to four months for your bones to heal before placing a dental implant.

 

Extraction and Bone Grafting

After removing a tooth or teeth from your mouth, you will have a hollow socket space in your gums where there is no bone. When your gum and bone healing occurs, the shape of the existing bone will be changed, and typically the ridge of gum (and the bone) will shrink, making it difficult to place a dental implant in the future. To avoid this bone resorption and shorten the waiting time for healing, we can place a bone graft at the time of extraction. This bone graft will maintain the shape of the gum and bone ridge underneath, which generally gives the most predictable and successful results for dental implants.

Same Day Implants

(Extractions and implants in one visit)

Immediate implants are placed on the same day extractions of teeth are done. 

This treatment option is recommended in most cases to get better looking gum results, and this will save two to four months of additional time required for bone healing after the extraction of teeth. Immediate implants can be done as long as you do not have significant infection or bone defects under your gums. We can place crowns usually two to four months after an immediate implant placement.

Same Day Implants with Teeth

(Extractions, Implants with temporary teeth in one visit)

In some limited circumstances, we can place a dental implant and add a temporary tooth on the same day. This treatment option is for someone who needs a tooth as soon as possible, usually to replace a broken or missing front tooth. However, applying a chewing force directly by placing a tooth on the same day of implant surgery can potentially stress implants and bones, which can compromise the healing. Thus, same day tooth replacement can be done, but it is dependent on multiple conditions that need to be determined at the time of consult and surgery.

 

Affordable Dental Implants vs. Premium Dental Implants

We believe more people should have the benefits of dental implants; sometimes, high treatment costs can delay treatment, but missing teeth can only do harm to your mouth.
